1) The Club shall be called the '50' Club and shall be run for the purposes of conducting a private lottery , in accordance with section 4 of the Lotteries and Amusements Act 1976. These rules will be known as the '50' Club rules. 2) The '50' Club is established for the purposes of raising funds for the objectives of Catford & Cyphers Cricket Club (hereinafter called 'the Club') and after payments for printing, stationery, postage and payment of prizes, the promoter shall devote all the proceeds to the furtherance of the objectives of the Club. Any reference to a 'Club rule' shall be interpreted as a reference to the Rules of Catford & Cyphers Cricket Club, adopted at the November 1991 AGM. 3) The promoter is David Golbey of 29 Gilton road, Catford, London SE6 1PJ (who is the person authorised in writing by the Committee of the Club to promote the same). In the event of the promoter resigning the Club Committee may authorise a new promoter and production of a revised copy of the rules and membership cards and, subject to these requirements being met, the '50' Club shall continue in all other respects as hereinafter set out. 4) The '50' Club is only open to Members of the Club as defined by rule 4 of the Club rules. 5)Participation in the '50' Club shall be by the purchase of a chance or chances in the manner specified in '50' Club Rule 6. 6) a) Each applicant for membership of the '50' Club shall join the '50' Club by completing an application form for participation in the '50' club and authorise their bank to pay £5.00 or multiples thereof each calendar month to: Bank: First Direct Sort Code: 40 47 76 Account No: 80580554 Address: 40 Wakefield Road Leeds LS98 lFD These payments will be made throughout the period of membership. b) On receipt of confirmation that the payment has been set up and receipt of the application form, the promoter will allocate the applicant a number unique to that applicant for the duration of the '50' Club. The promoter shall place the Member's number in the list of numbers to be drawn in the next full calendar month after receipt of the first payment from the applicant. Upon receipt of that payment the applicant shall become a Member of the '50' Club. That Member shall continue to participate in each draw in every calendar month thereafter and subject to the to the provisions of Rule 13 of the '50' Club rules, shall cease to participate in the calendar month following receipt of that Members last Standing Order payment. c) The '50' Club will be audited at least twice per year by 2 Members of the Club Committee, one being the Treasurer of the Club and the second a Club Committee Member selected by the Committee. The auditors will submit a written report to the Committee on the running of the '50' Club.
7) A draw will be made each calendar month, not later than the 30th day of each calendar month. On such date as the Promoter shall determine to be the most convenient to the activities of the Club. , Such draw shall be witnessed by not less than 3 Members of the committee of the Club.
8) The first ticket drawn shall be the winner; the second ticket drawn shall be entitled to the second prize. The winner will receive a prize no less than 45% of the total of that month's eligible money; the second prize will be no less than 15% of the total of that months eligible money. A maximum of 15% of the total numbers issued will be unallocated. The purpose of this is to introduce the concept of the rollover. If either the first or second number drawn is one of these unallocated numbers then that months prize money for either first or second place will be added to the following months prize fund. 9) The Promoter may from time to time (with the written authority of the Club Committee) increase the prize money to such greater sum of 45% and 15% as may be so authorised. Such increases shall be communicated to all '50' Club Members in accordance with '50' Club rule 10. 10) Details of the '50' Club and prize amounts shall be communicated by;a) Issue of a card to each 'Club' Member . b) Display of a notice on the Club premises at Rubens Street, Catford, London SE6 4DH. c) '50' Club newsletter posted to members on a monthly basis. Save as written above, no written notice or advertisement of the '50' Club shall be exhibited, published or distributed.11) Any card issued to a Member of the '50' Club shall state the following details; a) The Promoters name and address. b) That membership is restricted to members of Catford Cyphers Cricket Club. c) Prizes may only be paid to '50' Club Members drawing the winning numbers. d) All prizes will be paid electronically by BACS (Bankers Automated Clearing System), will be paid to Members within 10 working days of the draw taking place and the payment will only be made payable to the '50' Club Member. 12) Cards will be issued to '50' Club Members by the Promoter and only posted out in exceptional circumstances and this must be by recorded delivery. 13) Upon termination of the '50' Club either under '50' Club Rule 14 d) or e), the whole of the sums collected by the '50' Club, after all expenses permitted by Rule 2 of the '50' Club rules shall be the property of the Club and shall be distributed in accordance with the Club Rules. No monies received from '50' Club Members shall be repaid to '50' Club Members other than prizes. 14) Membership of the '50' Club shall cease forthwith upon one of .the following events: a) Death of a Member or termination of membership in accordance with Club Rule 9. b) Non Payment of any Standing Order payment by a '50' Club Member. c) A '50' Club Member giving one month's written notice to the promoter on or before the 30th of the calendar month that he wishes to cease to be a participant in the '50' Club. d) The Promoter giving not less than 3 calendar months notice of termination of the '50' Club. e) The dissolution of the Club, in accordance with Rule 23 of the Club rules. |
